From May 1, 2026, visitors to our museum can explore a unique exhibition presenting the history of the emergence, development, and decline of railways in our region. The exhibition introduces nearly 180 years of history of both the main strategic railway lines, which still play an important economic role today, and the railways built for the needs of mining and metallurgical operations. It also presents the origins of local railway lines and routes connecting our region. The exhibition also mentions railway lines that disappeared or were never completed due to wartime events, post-war political changes, or new water-management and transport projects. Come and discover the fascinating story of railways in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
